The previous owner said that the person he bought it from got it from a Gibson employee and that the person received the guitar without a pickguard. Inspecting the guitar up close shows that no pickguard was ever put on as there would be some degree of change to the finish or wear from removing it which is not present. Spec wise, it all lines up with how a mid 80's Hummingbird would have been made except for the obvious lack of a pickguard but also the finish. Cherry Sunburst is most common while this guitar has an almost Cremona Burst to it, which is not a standard offering for this era. The coloring also doesn't look like it's a Cherry Sunburst that has faded over time to this color as it's far too uniform and clean. The serial number on the headstock is an 8 digit serial (81015530) while the label on the inside seems to have been put in wrong (8101530).
