This guitar is in very good condition for its age with the expected wear from the 70+ years of playing. The frets are in good condition currently with lots of life left and the instrument is fully setup and playing well with 12 gauge strings. The guitar currently has a pickguard mounted Kent Armstrong single coil pickup with volume and tone controls mounted under the pickguard, the original pickguard is also included. The tuners, bridge and tailpiece are all original and still in good working condition as well. From what we can tell there are no repaired cracks or structural damage or repairs to the instrument, the neck angle is very good with no signs currently of a neck reset being needed. A generic arch top cased is included.

Available from 1939 to 1954, the Broadway was part of the Masterbilt line and featured a carved Spruce top and carved Maple back and sides. Originally this model featured a 16" lower bout which was then enlarged to 17" in 1936, the back and sides were also American Walnut until 1939 when the back and sides changed to Maple.

This is the write up on the Broadway model from an Epiphone catalog of the era

"The BROADWAY is the consistent choice of guitarists for solo and orchestra playing. Its tone is solid and brilliant.

It is now built with curly maple back and sides, hand carved and graduated top of of choicest straight grained spruce and mahogany neck, to make this model a beauty in appearance as well as tone and performance.

In the same large dize as the DE LUXE, finished in Epiphone bornw with a highlighted top, back and sides. Fitted with goldplated and burnished metal parts, including Epiphone's exclusive FREUQENSATOR, frequncy compensating tailpiece.

Fingerboard of selected rosewood with 20 frets and genuine mother of pearl inlays."
