This guitar is in good playing condition and features original tuners, pickups, pots, switches, bridge, mute assembly and functioning vibrato. The mute still has some of the original foam which has solidified as is common with these guitars. A vibrato arm is included but we are unsure as to if it's original as it doesn't sit snugly but it does seem to be from the era.  The original logo is missing as it was refinished a long time ago with what appears to be Nitrocellulose Lacquer (as determined by the typical finish crack patterns). Serial number on neck plate is L27477, neck stamp is in great condition and legible. It's difficult to determine the exact original finish as there are no traces of any color in any of the cavities.

Recently set-up with 10-46 D'addario strings, the neck is straight with the truss rod barely engaged so no issue to put a heavier gauge on this guitar (it came to us with old flat wound strings heavier gauge strings on it).  Plays well with no significant fret buzzes or dead frets.  It appears that a partial refret was done MANY years ago and that 1-11 were replaced with a similar wire. Pickup output is strong and balanced between the neck and bridge.

Sold with the original no logo Fender hardshell case.

The Jaguar first appeared in the 1962-63 catalog, this is the writeup

"FENDER JAGUAR The Jaguar, Fender's newest addition to their line of Fine electric instruments, presents a new and exciting concept in the field of solid-body guitars. The neck of the Jaguar is a short 24" scale containing 22 frets, and may be ordered with a size narrower or one of two sizes wider than standard neck width at the nut. A new "Fender First" in the Jaguar is the Fender Mute. This movable string Mute is attached to the bridge and may be activated or disengaged by a light touch of the finger. With the Fender Mute it no longer necessary to remove the bridge cover and dampen the strings with the hand to shorten the sustaining period of the notes. Other features of the Jaguar are: newly designed wide-range pickups, on-off pickup switches with controls making possible six different tone selections plus standard tone and volume controls, rhythm circuit, Fender "Floating Tremolo" "Off-set" waist design, and adjustable neck truss rod. The new Jaguar unhesitatingly recommended to those desiring complete instrument versatility.
