This vintage Fender Precision bass is in very good condition for its age with some minor wear. From the neck stamp this instrument looks to have been made in July of 1977. In 1977 Fender offered the Precision bass in both fretted and fretless versions as well as a variety of colors including the Natural & Walnut finishes which have become synonymous with 1970's Fender instrument. This particular bass is in the Sunburst finish which at this time had a lot more red in it than a more modern example of the same color.

The pickup is original and sounds fantastic, the codes on the pickup all line up with the 1977 production of the instrument. The original bridge cover is included but the original pickup cover is not, the screw holes under the bridge cover has some finish damage which is fairly common. The bridge cover itself still has some of the original black foam installed in it, the foam has fully hardened but is still intact. The thumbrest seems to be original and is in very good condition with no damage to it. The tuners are original and working well and have very little tarnish to them, the same goes for the bridge and bridge cover. There is a small lacquer crack on the bass side by the bridge cover which is cosmetic only. The nut looks to have been replaced at some point and has been made out of bone. At some point someone carved out the pickguard to have easier access to the truss rod, this was crudely done but works well enough for access. The truss rod is working as it should with no issues. This bass has a weight of 8lbs 10oz.

The body wood on this model is most likely Ash as Alder was typically used on solid color instruments. The neck has the standard unbound fretboard and features 20 frets and a standard 34" scale length. The original hard shell case isn't included, instead what seems to be a Fender molded case from the 1980's comes with the bass. Three of the four case latches are working well with the fourth being broken.
