Gibson Country Western (1959)

$8,500.00

1959 Gibson Country Western Model in natural finish.

Features a natural spruce top, mahogany sides and back, bound rosewood fingerboard, slope shoulder body, 24 3/4" scale length and 1-11/16 nut width.

All original and in great shape overall, but like many guitars of this age has some cosmetic wear and a few repairs.

Notable repairs include a repaired top crack behind the bridge and 2 smaller cracks by the pick guard.

Plays and sets up well with low action. Truss rod is fully functional and neck angle is good. Frets have some wear but they are original. Intonates just fine but could be re-fretted down the road if desired. Tuners have held up well, smooth turning and buttons are good shape. The finish has some nice checking and looks great.

Sounds crisp, clear and well balanced with plenty of volume. Currently strung up with 12-53 phosphor bronze strings.

Sold with a non original vintage case from roughly the same era.
