This guitar is in good condition with minor play wear. It was very well maintained by the original owner and shows no dings or damage. There is some noticeable shrinkage mainly around the headstock logos that is very common on Gibson guitars, the inlays are still flush and not popping out. Frets are also in very good condition with only minor wear. All parts and electronics are original and working well with no issues. A full setup has been done by our techs and it is strung with D'Addario flat wound 12's. The original Gibson archtop case is included.
This particular guitar was made February 22nd 2005 in the Memphis, Tennessee factory. The Herb Ellis model had two incarnations, the first running from 1991 to 2003 and the second from 2004 to 2011. The biggest difference between the two models is that the 91-03 model had a 490R humbucker as well as volume & tone contorls and was available in Cherry, Ebony & Vintage Sunburst. The later models, of which this is one, has a Johnny Smith style floating humbucker and a single pickguard mounted volume control. The finishes offered were Ebony, Light Burst, Vintage Sunburst and Wine Red.
