Gibson Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar w/Case - Cherry Red (1959)

Introduced in 1954, the original single cutaway Les Paul Jr was marketed as an affordable but high quality alternative to the standard Les Paul models. This model made way for the double cutaway model in 1958 and was available until 1961 when it became the SG shaped Les Paul Jr.

By stripping down the features such as the binding & carved top and having a super simple single pickup setup, this Les Paul Jr was sold for $132.50 as opposed to the Les Paul Standard price of $265 or the Les Paul custom at $395 making it significantly more affordable for musicians.

This specific guitar is all original except for the tuners and knobs. The tuners are vintage Gibson tuners from the 50's or 60's and are working well. The knobs are are not original and have been replaced with speed knobs. The bridge, pickup and pots are all original and working well with no issues. After inspecting the instrument we believe the frets to be original, there is still decent height left and the guitar plays great.

Aside from the standard cosmetic wear, there is a repaired break at the base of the neck joint near the body  . The repair was done locally by a reputable tech and while it is visible the repair is holding great and shows no signs of movement.
