This guitar is in good condition with some cosmetic wear and a crack in the back of the instrument. The crack on the back is under the inner back strip and while it is fairly large our techs have inspected it and it shows no movement. The back strip is thicker than usual which has made the crack not expand further. Structurally this is the only issue with this instrument, all wear is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect the playability of the guitar. The frets are nearly at full height and the neck angle is also very good. The guitar is also setup very well currently and is strung with light gauge strings. Using the serial number chart on the Guild Guitars site, this serial number comes up as being before the first number of 1984 making this a late 1983 or early 1984. The original Guild case is included with the guitar as well as the original owners manual and the case key.
The F-44 model was originally offered from 1984 to 1986 and were co-designed by the legendary George Gruhn during his time working for Guild (1984-1988). The model was later renamed the GF-60M in 1987. These guitars were built in Guild's Westerly factory and featured solid Spruce tops, solid flamed Maple back & sides, Maple neck with a Mahogany stripe and an Ebony fretboard and bridge. This guitar also has some beautiful diamond shaped pearl fretboard inlays, inlaid headstock logo, bound body & neck and over time the natural color has aged into a great vintage amber color.
