Harmony H62 Hollowbody Electric Guitar - Sunburst (1953-1956)

This guitar is in players grade condition with some notable repairs and lots of cosmetic and play wear. The most obvious repairs are to the headstock and the neck joint. The headstock was repaired at some point a long time ago and while the repair is visbile our techs have assessed it and is solid and not moving. The neck joint was pretty rough when we got the insrument, we removed the neck and set it back properly while also fixing a crack in the end of the neck itself from what looked to be an improperly installed strap pin.
In terms of wear, all the dings and scrapes you'd expect from a 60+ year old instrument are present. There is impact damage to the side of the body on the top close to the neck, some of the wood is slightly pushed in but it has been glued and is holding great. All the hardware is original and working well. The pots are a tad stiff but are functioning properly. The Gibson P-13 pickups are also all good and sounding fantastic, these pickups have become quite sought after due to their great clean sound while also having a bit more oomph than other pickups installed in similar guitars from the era. A pickguard was included with the guitar and while it doesn't look original, it does line up. We are missing the spacer and scerws for the pickguard but it will be included with the sale.
This model was available from 1953 to 1964 with some slight changes along the way. The H62 came with a truss rod starting in 1956 and the body depth changed from 3 1/2" to 2 3/4" in 1960. Based on this guitar not having a truss rod we are able to assume that it was made early on between 1953 and 1956. While these guitars were advertised as only being available in Blond, Sunburst models (such as this one) are fairly common.
Here is the writeup from the 1954 Harmony Catalog
