This vintage 12-string is in good condition with some cosmetic wear. Structurally there are no issues with the instrument, all the bracing is good to go and the bridge has no issues. There is some visible fret wear but there is still lots of fret left and it plays great. The original Martin hardshell case is included.
Originally released in 1970, the D12-28 was the 12-string version of the ever popular D-28 dreadnought guitar. Spec wise, the D12-28 is almost identical in woods and construction as its 6 string version. The most noticeable difference are the machine heads, which are 2 striped 6 tuners instead of individual ones as seen on the 6-string models.
This specific guitar has some noticeable but very vibey checking in the lacquer on the top of the instrument. There are also some noticeable dings on the top, back and headstock but these are purely cosmetic. Considering the age of this guitar, it's in very good condition.
This is what the 1979 catalog says about this instrument:
"The D12-28 features a 14-fret neck and a solid headstock on a D-28 style body. The top is made of the finest spruce, and the sides and back are genuine rosewood. Ebony is used for the fingerboard and bridge, and the precision machines assure ease of tuning. Bound in white, it has and appointments similar to our D-28 guitar. Polished lacquer finish"
