Released in 1975, the MicroMoog was a scaled down and less expensive alternative to the MiniMoog and was intended to be a more budget friendly way to get into synthesizers. Like the Minimoog, the MicroMoog was a monophonic instrument and while the MiniMoog offers more versatility (like having three oscillators) and a more comprehensive layout, the MicroMoog has some shared core Moog technology that makes it distinctly "Moog" in character.
This particular synth was fully serviced recently and is in very good working condition. It was already in decent condition when the previous owner purchased the unit, all the work done was to make it as close to original working condition as possible. This was all done locally by a respected vintage synth and keyboard repair person. A scan of the work order with all work done is included in ths listing.
This is the writeup from the 1975 catalog for the MicroMoog
"Introducing the most portable and affordable Moog synthesizer ever, the MICROMOOG. It's the size of a ballpark vendor's tray so you can carry it around the stage while you play. And thanks to it's modular design, you can use it as the basic building block. You can even couple as may MICROMOOGS together as you like with their controls interrelated with each other.
The patented Moog filter gives you the famous fat Moog sound. there's a ribbon for putch bending plus sample and holnd. And the instrument is variable rather than preset, to open up unlimited sound possibilities to you.
All this, yet the MICROMOOG costs less than a lot of keyboard instruments with limited sounds. So, if you're thinking of making a lot of sounds, think small. Think MICROMOOG!"
