This guitar is in good condition with some dings and noticeable wear. The frets also have some noticeable wear on them but the guitar still plays and intonates well as it is. Aside from the scuffs and dings, this guitar does not have any structural issues. A full setup was done in store by our techs and it has been strung with D'Addario EJ26 strings.
From our reasearch we believe this guitar to have been made between 1975 and 1978. Sigma Guitars was created by Martin in 1970 to compete with other Japanese brands importing into the US. This was the entry level model in the lineup and was available in both a natural (Sigma DM-5) and shaded finish (Sigma DM-5S).
This is a write up on this model from a 1970's Sigma catalog
"The shaded spruce top combined with a Dreadnought style body, black and white binding and a polished lacquer finish make the DM-5S a special value and an exceedingly handsome instrument. Included are virtually all of the features of the DM-5"
