This guitar is in very good condition with no damage and minor wear. Some of the gold plating on the hardware and pickup is slightly tarnished but this is cosmetic only. Structurally this guitar has no issues and both the acoustic piezo pickup & preamp as well as the humbucker work well with no issues. The guitar has been setup by our techs and is currently strung with D'Addario ECG24 flat wound strings. A basic hardshell case is also included.

The AEX1500 was designed in conjunction with British Jazz guitarist Martin Taylor. This model was also called the "Martin Taylor" model in Europe and the UK while just being called the AEX1500 everywhere else.

"The AEX1500 and AEX500 combine a unique blend of tradition and technology to bring the quality and tone of both acoustic and electric guitars into a single instrument. Both instruments incorporate a floating neck pickup with the same acoustic bridge pickup as found in our APX series guitars. These hybrid acoustic/jazz guitars can produce both straight-ahead jazz and accurate acoustic tone. The ability to blend both pickups together opens up vast new possibilities in tone creation.

AEX1500 Piezo Pickup: Mounted in the bone and ebony bridge, the Pizeo pickup delivers full crips acoustic sound. Highly responsive, even the subtlest picking and attack nuances will be reproduced accurately.

AEX1500 Floating Humbucker Pickup: The Mini Humbucker produces a warm and expressive sound that is full of range and depth. A floating mount is used to allow the top of the guitar to vibrate freely insuring excellent acoustic sound.

AEX1500 Controls: Pickups selection is made possible by a 3-way selector. Separate controls in the pickups of a 3-band linear EQ with variable mid range (400Hz-2kHz) for the pizeo pickup and a tone control for the humbucker. The 3-band EQ controls allow extensive tone control of the pizeo pickup right at the playing position. There is also a MIX control which permits balance of the two pickups creating a broad range of sonic possibilities.
